Current Projects

Annette,
Okay, here's what I've been working on the past few weeks. Check out the fabric on the loom right now:

Paul helped me tweak the photos in Photoshop, so the colors are really close. This is the hand-dyed blue/purple cotton boucle warp, woven with purple cotton boucle weft doubled with purple slubby rayon. The purple rayon is in the warp too, you can see the darker threads in the picture. I'm 2/3 of the way done with this warp, then I need to weave straps for the bag handle. I'm going to try to make the bag reversible!

Next project:

Here's the silk scarf I finally got started on with my handspun silk from the Silkworker roving. I love it! Knitting this longways was the best way to go for this variegated yarn, it keeps the colors from overlapping and getting all muddy. The stitches are honeycomb stitch and daisy stitch, very pretty. It will need some pretty good blocking when I'm done.

And in the spinning progress:

Here is a skein of the gray Shetland that I overdyed blue, turquoise, and green plying with the silk that I dyed navy blue. I need to get back to spinning this, I still have a lot of silk spun, but need another bobbin of the wool so I can ply some more. I have no idea what I'm going to do with this yarn yet, but I'm having fun plying the two different fibers.

Okay, I'm worn out from the wedding we went to today, so talk to you later!

Robin
